TEMPE, Arizona – US Airways heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat het een voorlopig akkoord heeft bereikt over een collectieve arbeidsovereenkomst met de Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), die de 6,800 stewardessen van de luchtvaartmaatschappij vertegenwoordigt. Details van de overeenkomst zullen door AFA beschikbaar worden gesteld.
"We zijn erg blij dat we een voorlopig akkoord hebben bereikt met AFA en danken de vakbondsleiding en het onderhandelingscomité voor hun toewijding ter ondersteuning van onze stewardessen", aldus Doug Parker, voorzitter en CEO van US Airways. “We willen ook onze waardering uitspreken aan de National Mediation Board, bestuurslid Linda Puchala, Mediator Jim MacKenzie en Veda Shook, International President, Association of Flight Attendants – CWA, AFL-CIO voor hun hulp bij het bereiken van deze overeenkomst.”
De voorlopige overeenkomst zou betrekking hebben op de 6,800 hoofdstewardessen van de luchtvaartmaatschappij, die zijn gevestigd in de drie hubsteden van US Airways, Phoenix, Philadelphia en Charlotte, NC, en in de focusstad Washington, DC.
